Library at Your Door
"Library at Your Door" Service
Are you aware that the Charlton Library provides delivery service to homebound individuals? This service is available to all Charlton library patrons, not only those with a permanent disability, but also to those with a temporary illness.
New mothers and parents with a sick child who cannot get to the library also qualify for the service.
And remember, the library offers much more than just books. Items for checkout include books, movies, music, audiobooks, magazines and more.
Dvds, videocassettes, and magazines are loaned for one week.
All other materials are loaned for three weeks.
If not on reserve, materials may be renewed once.
You may renew items at the library, by phone, or online via the library catalog.
Library fines are not intended to be a source of revenue but serve to provide a behavioral incentive for patrons to return borrowed materials in a timely manner.
Library fines policy is the responsibility of Library Trustees. As a practical matter, the Trustees delegate the implementation of the fines policy, including amnesties, waivers and substitutions to the Library Director subject to review of significant changes.
Print and audio materials accrue a 10 cent daily overdue fine with a $3.00 maximum fine per item.
Dvd and video items accrue a $1.00 daily overdue fine with a maximun fine of $5.00 per item.
Patrons are responsible for the repair or replacement of lost or damaged items. Failure to pay fines or damages will result in the loss of borrowing privileges at C/WMARS libraries.
Patrons may return materials at both circulation desks in the library. For after hour drop offs, there are Return Boxes located in the back of the building outside of the Children's Room. Return boxes are emptied each morning and one hour before the library closes each evening. If materials that are due that day are dropped off in the boxes after staff has emptied them for the last time that day, those materials will be considered overdue and accrue fines.
As a member of the Central Massachusetts Regional Library System, we share resources with other libraries. Can't find an item at our library? You may order materials from any library in the state using your C/WMARS library card at:
